What is VELCI?

The Victorian Early Leaver Connection Initiative (VELCI) is a Victorian Government program supporting school‑aged early school leavers to reconnect with education, training or employment through coordinated local support. Read more about VELCI on the Victorian Government website. 

Role of the VELCI Community of Practice (CoP)

The VELCI Community of Practice (CoP) brings together Career Advice Service (CAS) and Targeted Supports (TS) providers from across Victoria to strengthen support for early school leavers. The CoP promotes a shared, statewide approach to service delivery through collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.

By connecting providers through regular engagement and shared learning, the CoP:

• supports consistent, high‑quality practice; and
• contributes to the evidence base on what works to help early school leavers successfully transition to, and remain engaged in, education, training and employment pathways.
