The involvement of parents in the school to post-school planning process for students with disability is a key factor for a successful transition into adult life. When we asked our Ticket to Work participants that have had successful transition into employment, 80% have stated that their greatest support has been their families.
However, many parents report they lack confidence, knowledge and skills to support their child’s transition. For parents of students with disability there is often no clear pathway; and there are little examples or role models to show what is possible.
Becoming an adult is a huge transition for the child as well as the parents. The below resources are designed to assist parents plan and support their children to achieve a meaningful and fulfilling adult life.
